We celebrated our friend Roshelle's birthday at a local winery just east of Cincinnati last month. We both decided we'd been depriving Isabella of wineries for far too long. Belle did awesome as always, allowing her to stay up well past her bedtime, as well as allow mom and dad to mingle for a while longer. Fun night!
The Reds are actually doing really well this year (first time since we've lived here). We took advantage of our wonderful babysitter next door and headed downtown with some good friends. We sadly lost that night (despite Ben's rally cap), but had a great night.
Their direct road trip from Flagstaff, AZ to Raleigh, NC which saw Portland, Seattle, New Orleans, and Minneapolis finally makes sense as it actually hits a point between the two cities. It was great to meet and spend time with Cyle and seeing Jon was fine too, I guess.
We went to Indy for Easter back in April. Again, I've fallen a bit behind with our blog, but hope to recoup a more current status soon. A new addition to the Hyde family and our pictures is Alexander (Feb '10) below. Belle is excited to have a new buddy.
Yeah, I know, it's April and these visits were all around Christmas and New Years. There is a bit of catching-up to do over here!
Nikki and Gina came to visit us (and IKEA) from Illinois in early December. We unintentionally stumbled upon this very scenic spot in Kentucky looking across the Ohio River at downtown Cincy. Jen made her trip over just after Christmas and Jon's was soon after the new year on his short trek from Raleigh, NC to Flagstaff, AZ. We loved having you all here and miss you all so much during the rest of the year.
Here are a few more pics from October. Yes, that is a ladybug costume on my daughter in the top left and yes, Tara may be a little overprotective, as seen in bottom right (who puts a car seat on a couch?). Although, you can't blame her too much after seeing the domino action started by the boy in the pumpkin costume (poor tot in the corner).
Yeah, yeah... I know it's not September (or even October), but it is nice to see short sleeves again, huh? Above are some pics of a few visits and other fun September activities. I'm not sure we'll be back out on our deck like that again any time soon. Please note the well executed Heisman stiff-arm delivered by Olivia in the bottom left.
We had a great brunch with the wonderful Backer ladies (Lindsay & Evie) this past Saturday. We were fortunate that they could carve out some Saturday AM time with us, as they were briefly in town from Minneapolis. It was great to be with Linds again and a true delight to meet Evie. We hope to pop her out a little buddy very soon! Thanks for loaning out your ladies Ryan.
Here are a few random pics from around town recently. Highlights are: various friends, "Mom and Dad to Be" medals seen in bottom center with various child, and yes, that's a bathtub with steering wheel and lawnmower engine in the back (couldn't resist - sorry Tara).
Tami (Tara's sister) held a baby shower for Tara a couple of weeks ago and boy was there some serious turnout. Thanks Tami for corralling all the ladies! I was fortunate enough to be there at the very beginning and end, but "sadly" couldn't be there for all the festivities. It was great to see so many friends and family at the same time. Our little gal is now very well equipped for her deployment into the world. Thanks from all three of us!!
A few weeks ago, we were thrown a baby shower by Tara's high school friends back in Strasburg, Illinois. We had a great time catching up with good friends and receiving much-needed advice about what we're getting into here very shortly. The cake seen at the far-right is proudly on display in the baby's room. Tara is counting down the days until it can be unwrapped to get to the tasty center. Thanks to all of you for hosting us and for your generous gifts. We hope to see you all much more often.
We are very excited for May to finally be here. The grass is green, the flowers are in bloom, and the temperature is in the high 60's and 70's every day. We both love our Caribbean apparel and are definitely ready for daily flip-flops and shorts season. At the top are pics of us with our friends Ben & Roshelle out for some Indian cuisine. Our little lady is acquiring quite a wardrobe for such a young age (negative 3 months), as seen in the top right corner. The bottom right picture is Tara with her first Mother's Day card and a picture of the pink Magnolia tree that accompanied it. The picture, not the actual tree, accompanied the card. The tree is still awaiting our pickup. The bottom center picture was of Tara's 1st day of maternity wear. For all you teachers out there, and I know you're out there, summer is almost here!! Start scheduling your trips to Cincinnati. See you soon! -T&C
